Whether in a book, newspaper, magazine, painting or screen, the image is always a prisoner, enclosed within a frame. Readers and viewers are looking at an imaginary world held captive by small, rigid structures.

"Le monde réel, qui est partout, avec le ciel, le sol, ses jeux d’ombres et de lumières, c’est l’Image Totale© » explique Albert Plecy. Annabelle Mauger et Julien Baron perpétuent et subliment ce savoir-faire français qui date de 1977. Les créateurs apportent une expertise artistique et technique qui donne une dimension nouvelle au concept d’Image Totale ©.

L’enjeu de l’Image Totale© est de libérer l’image de son cadre. Ainsi, l’intégrité de l’image est respectée et les émotions sont amplifiées. Annabelle Mauger explique que libérer l’image c’est aussi libérer le spectateur : « Chaque visiteur a le droit de déambuler, aussi longtemps qu’il le souhaite, dans tous les coins et recoins de chaque exposition immersive, afin véritablement de se sentir libéré de toute contrainte. » Le spectateur n’est plus passif, il devient une partie de l’image et interagit avec elle. L’Image Totale© offre une expérience unique, elle enveloppe le spectateur et le place au cœur de l’image.

In 1975, Albert Plécy visited the impressive limestone quarries of Les Baux-de-Provence, in the south of France, and immediately realized that this was the place he had been looking for for years.

Albert Plécy dies, three weeks after the opening of Cathédrale d'Images. His wife Anne Plécy became the guardian of his legacy.

Annabelle Mauger is working for Cathédrale d'Images for the first time, as a consultant, alongside the creation team (Dong & Charbonneau) for the "Portraits of China" show. Annabelle Mauger is in charge of communications and is working as an artistic advisor on the creation of the exhibition.

Julien Baron joins the Cathédrale d'Images team.

Van Gogh
exhibition

Annabelle Mauger took on the challenge of creating the 2008 Van Gogh exhibition in time for the opening on 27 February 2008. She produced the entire exhibition in a record time of 13 days. The exhibition ran from February 27th, 2008 to January 4th, 2009, and was a huge success.

La Grande

Imagine Van Gogh opens to the public at La Grande Halle de La Villette (Paris, France). Imagine Van Gogh in Paris was the first ever immersive exhibition to be presented in the French capital, before l'Atelier des Lumières or other immersive experience.

NOVEMBER 2019

Annabelle Mauger and Julien Baron have created a new immersive show, Imagine Picasso, presented for the first time in Lyon. It's a show that breaks all the rules of immersive exhibitions, with a room only 4 meters high - half the height usually required.

NOVEMBRE 2019

Imagine Van Gogh was presented in Montreal, becoming the first immersive exhibition to be presented in North America. It welcomed 200,000 visitors.
